Classroom Decorations

Color Art

For our circus unit we make "Rainbow Names," make "Square Bears," paint rainbows, and create rainbow windsocks- all on Paint Day the first week of school!

Dinosaur Head

This almost life-sized triceratops head was created by tracing a picture on the overhead projector and shining the image onto a large piece of butcher paper and cutting it out.

Donated Decorations

Another view of our insect zoo. Above the bugs you can see our "Wall of Fame" which features our certificates. Above that are a giant advertising ruler and crayon donated by our local Target store (they also donated giant pencils, erasers, and notebooks!). Ask the manager of your local Target, Walmart, K-mart, etc. to save their Back-to-School decorations for your classroom. These advertising materials are normally just thrown away after September. Another great way to decorate your classroom without spending a dime!

Insect Zoo

In little plastic boxes we have set up an "Insect Zoo" so that can observe real insects and bugs in the classroom. We decorate the room with giant sized bugs created with the overhead projector and butcher paper.

Bulletin Board Background

Tired of plain old butcher paper backgrounds? Buy some pattern fabric, trim to size, and staple to create a colorful display. There are patterns for just about every theme. The best part is that this background is re-usable. Less paper to throw away!

Room Aquarium!

Tracing pictures onto butcher paper, using the overhead projector, allows you to create life-size decorations for the classroom. Cost to you: $0.00. Your students' reactions: Priceless!

Thematic Bulletin Board and Book Display

Books on display go with our monthly theme. We use patterned fabric to decorate the bulletin boards and display our work.
